(Hint: Relate it to our daily life.)
For this question, all of you will have to answer it using the "comment" function.
Do remember to state who you are in your replies.
Rewards:
The person with the most creative answer will win a mystery prize! hee hee
Winner: Vikki Chia \\( ^ _ ^)//
The importance of learning fraction is to ensure that we will be able to apply to our daily life. It can be related to money, sharing a cake, pizza, a bar of chocolate.... Example, if Wen Xuan, Natasha, HsiaoFang and I share to buy a present for Mr PapajoeThe present cost $12. We will have to divide into 4 equal parts. Each person will have to pay 1/4 or $3. If Wen Xuan and HsiaoFang do not have enough money, I can help them to pay first. So I will need to pay 3/4 which is $3 x 3 parts = $9If I am not sure with my fraction which is also related to division and multiplication, then how am I going to handle my money well?

Greetings from Xin Ru!!!

Hello Miss Ho, Miss Sung and Mr Ang,
How are you? We started school on 24 July 2007. The name of our school is Canning Vale Primary School. The school system here is different from Singapore. The work is easier and also more interesting. The school hours are longer; we start at 8.40 am and finishes at 3.00 pm. On Wednesdays we finish earlier at 2.10 pm. We also learn maths, science and english but in a different way. We have no problems with the school work. Homework includes reading, projects, music, art, housework and interacting with parents. One of the school rules is that if you are not wearing the school hat, you will not be allowed to go out to play. It is called no-hat-no-play. This is to protect us from the sun's UV rays, even during winter.
Our house is quite near to the airport and so we see many planes flying overhead, but it is not noisy. It is also near to the school. We have a swimmimg pool in our backyard but it is winter now so too cold to swim.
Attached is a photogragh taken in front of our house today. The other photo shows our neighbour Joshua.
We am happy here but we miss you all and our Gongshang friends. Please say hello to them for us. Thank you very much.
We are looking forward to receiving your emails.
Best wishes,
Zheng Wei & Xin Ru
